Medical Billing Specialist

My life and career have taken me all over the world and through that cultural influence, I have learned that everybody and every BODY is different and therefore treatment should not be one-size-fits all.

What was I made for? If you were to have asked me this question when I was a kid, Inwould have said a gymnast bound for the 1996 Olympics. However, after several injuries, I had to give up my athletic dreams. You may be asking yourself, what does this have to do with anything? Well, gymnastics taught me a lot of things: resilience, strength, flexibility, and most importantly, recovery. If you follow gymnastics in any capacity, then you’ll know a lot has happened recently, like team doctors doing immoral, unethical things, and athletes taking a knee in honor of their mental health. Mental health is an issue across all industries. Luckily, I have found a community in the PNW where I can advocate for mental health issues. I am thrilled to be able to do my part and use my voice for the good of my community.

7 years ago, I had elective back surgery and both my mental and physical health took a nosedive. I was caught in this vicious cycle of “why can’t my body do this anymore?” and “will I ever be the same again?” My daughter had to help me with everyday tasks that were once easy and I took for granted. Reevaluating my mental health was a huge part of my recovery process and made me the person I am today. I can now take a step back and realize that asking for help isn’t a shortcoming but a building block in strengthening my community.

I have been working in the medical field in some capacity over the last 30 years. My experience has ranged from scheduling surgeries to billing insurance to assisting physicians to helping patients change their lives through diet and exercise. All of these experiences have led me here to this moment and I cannot wait to see what the future holds at INR! I chose to work at INR because of the caring, friendly staff and the idea that treatment is not one-size-fits all.

During my downtime, I love spending time with my two dogs Cynder and Teddy, playing skii ball, and exploring the great PNW. Also, go Ducks!
