The foundation of my approach is that genuine healing and change are possible.

I believe this happens in the context of a trusting relationship where openness, respect, curiosity, and accountability can flourish.

My goal is to create an environment where every client feels respected, heard, and believed in as they take the courageous steps toward their goals.

I was born in Idaho and raised in California, moving to the Eugene area in January of 2023. I love how beautiful the Pacific Northwest is, particularly the lush greenery and mountains that are so accessible.

Like many others, my adolescence was one affected by substance abuse and challenges with mental health. Fortunately, I had some incredible people come into my life to help me as I pursued my own healing and growth. These people who were available to me inspired me to pursue a career in helping others. After doing my undergraduate work in Theology, I decided to pursue a Marriage and Family Therapy degree at Seattle Pacific University. During my program, I had the opportunity to provide outpatient mental health services to youth and families while also co-facilitating a group on substance use for teens. I continued my work with teens at a group practice after graduation and most recently as a college counseling center director at Bushnell University. Through each of these experiences, I have become more committed to serving adolescents and young adults with excellence.

My counseling approach is informed by Family Systems Theory, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Attachment Theory. All of these help me attune to different aspects of my clients' experiences to co-create solutions that are sustainable and meaningful.

Outside of the counseling room, my hobbies consist of backpacking, playing cribbage, going to live sporting events, and reading a wide variety of books. I am also a husband and father and enjoy getting outside to connect with my family whenever possible.

Professional Background

My professional career in the mental health field began working with youth and families at an outpatient agency where I worked with children from 7-17, working on a variety of goals. I then helped youth, couples, and families in a group practice context with specific focus on youth with anxiety disorders and unwanted compulsive behaviors. The last several years I’ve served as the clinical director at a University Counseling Center helping to service young adults across campus.
