I believe that each person already possesses an abundance of strengths that contribute to their ability to heal and transform their lives.
As your therapist, I aim to empower your strengths by creating a compassionate and authentic environment, leaning in with radical open-mindedness as we explore the dynamic textures of your feelings and experiences.
My love of working as a therapist is rooted in my own experiences as an adolescent, struggling to feel safe and seen, but who was surrounded by trusted teachers, therapists, and community members that were able to guide me toward greater healing. I attribute much of my wellness today to the radical care and considerations of others in my community at the time – those who taught me to express myself through art, checked in when I needed it, and offered guiding insight. As a result, I understand personally the power of a safe and caring relationship that has the potential to guide you toward a balanced and nourishing life.
My approach is personable and affirming, informed by a holistic approach to care that aids in the promotion of wholeness and healing in the mind and body. Through this lens, I create an empowering environment, integrating the humor, honesty, and critical consciousness that is so integral to my personality inside and outside of the therapy room. Calling on my background in Social Work, I support clients in building greater self compassion through understanding how the systems in which we exist aid on our harm, and our healing.
My therapeutic orientation is trauma-informed and psychodynamic, honoring the complexities of your personal history while integrating relevant interventions in service of your unique needs. The goal is to find compassion for your hardships and find useful, long-term solutions.
I spend much of my time with community and family, laughing with friends at dinner parties and getting outside as much as possible. When I am spending time alone, you'll find me painting, working on creative projects or showering my dog with love and attention.
